Atom Drop strategy: build a sorted pile, chain fusions and cool the core

How dropping, fusing, the chain window, the danger line and the Meltdown Core work, and how to keep a chamber alive for a long run.

Sort the chamber

Keep big atoms low and to one side, small ones on the other. A pile sorted from heavy to light leaves room on top and sets up cascades: a fusion at the bottom lifts the whole stack and lets equal atoms meet. Mixed piles trap small atoms under big ones where nothing can reach them.

Read the beam

The beam under the atom in hand shows where it will land, and the next atom is shown top right. You can drop again after six tenths of a second; dropping as fast as you can fills the chamber in under three minutes, so take the time to place each one.

Chain for the multiplier

Fusions within eight tenths of a second of each other chain. Each link raises the multiplier (up to ×10) and every fusion pays its element value times the multiplier, so a cascade that climbs three elements pays far more than three separate fusions. Set them up: an atom that will fuse, land and fuse again.

The danger line

Anything resting above the dashed line starts a three-second overflow count, shown on the line. A fusion that drops the pile below the line resets it. Big atoms near the top are the usual cause: fuse them or build beside them.

The Meltdown Core

Every fifth level a heavy core drops in and sinks through the pile. It never fuses. Each fusion within reach of it cools it by one; when it is cold it detonates, vaporising every atom around it for points and clearing space. Fuse near it on purpose, and keep the pile low while it is in play.

Neon and beyond

Two Neon atoms (the tenth element) that touch both vanish for 5,000 times the chain multiplier. The run has no clock: it ends only when the chamber overflows. Bank a good run with End & Save from the pause screen.
