Block Party strategy: keep lines open, ride the streak and purge the Glitch
How placing, clearing, streaks, tempo, gold pieces, fair trays and the Glitch work, and how to keep a floor alive for hundreds of pieces.
PLAY A FREE ROUND ↗Trays are dealt to fit
Before a tray is dealt, the dealer checks that all three pieces can be placed in some order; only on a crowded floor, after six tries fail, does it deal one that cannot. If a tray looks impossible, try a different order: the big piece usually has to go first.
Keep a lane open
Pieces never rotate, so a 3 × 3 square or a five-long bar needs a matching gap. Keep one corner and one long edge open for them, and fill the middle with small pieces. A floor of scattered single holes is the one that ends runs.
Clear together
Rows and columns clear at once, and each extra line in the same placement pays more: a double pays well over twice a single. The ghost of the piece you are holding lights the lines it would complete, so look before you let go.
Ride the streak
Clearing on placement after placement builds a streak multiplier up to ×20, and it ends after three placements without a clear. A long streak is worth far more than one big clear, so set up several almost-full lines and finish them one by one.
Tempo and gold
Placing within two seconds of the last piece adds a tempo bonus to the placement. Gold pieces double any clear they are part of. Emptying the whole floor pays a jackpot of 3,000 times the level.
The Glitch
Every fifth level the Glitch corrupts cells of the floor. They count as filled, so they can help finish a line, and clearing a line through one destroys it. Every four placements without destroying one, the Glitch spreads to a neighbouring cell. Go after it at once: purge every Glitch cell to win the level.
